Amelie Koning

Fine Arts and Hand-painted Silks


Born in Indonesia, educated in the Netherlands, settled in Toronto, Canada in 1960.
M.A. in Fine Arts from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, The Hague, The
Netherlands. First prize drawing. First prize for design of proclamation
commemorating the end of the second World War.
Group and Solo exhibitions in The Hague and Nijmegen, The Netherlands and solo show in Lahr, Germany. Several shows in Toronto, Canada. Work is represented in many private and public
collections both national and international.
Working in oils, watercolours, acrylics, mixed media, lithography, etching ,
encaustic, chine colle and French dyes on silk.
Member of Carfac, Carcc, Quinte Arts Council, Prince Edward Arts Council. Participating member of the Arts Trail as well as the Prince Edward County Studio Tour.
Exhibited and was a member of Gallery One Twenty One, Belleville, from 2000 to 2008.
Founding and exhibiting member of Arts on Main Gallery in Picton, from 2007 to the present.
Recent local shows:
'Art in the County', each year since 1999.
Honourable mention award, 2010.
