I mix old and new bits, reclaimed & commercial fabrics, hand-stitched marks and machine stitched, maybe paint or found objects. This is the fun of it!
I am a collage artist, currently working with textiles, assorted fibres, and mixed media.
Most of my pieces are fabric collage art quilts. In the past, I was a painter, illustrator, jewelry maker (mixed media "Relics"), dollmaker, love figure drawing and, of course, the textures of papers and fabrics. So, making fabric collage art quilts is a natural outcome – a synthesis of many influences.
I studied Art full-time at Central Technical School, Toronto, and the BFA Program at Queen's University, Kingston, and have a B.Ed. degree in Visual Arts from Queen's. My work has been exhibited at the National Trade Center, Toronto, and in juried shows in Oakville, Eastern Ontario, Toronto, and the West Indies. My studio is in my home in Picton, Ontario.
