Lola Reid Allin

Airline Transport Pilot -Dive Master -Activist -Adventurer - Photographer - Mayanist 



Lola’s varied careers reflect her curiosity about our world.  As an airline pilot she acquired nearly 6,000 hours. At the University of Waterloo she studied psychology, genetics, and anthropology.  During her three year residency in MesoAmerica, she worked first as a SCUBA diver then lived with Lacandon, K’ekchi, and Mopan Maya documenting their lives in text and photographs.

Her photographs have received numerous Jurors’ Choice and Best of Show Awards and have been published by National Geographic, Verge: Travel with Purpose, Smithsonian Journeys, Globe & Mail, Toronto Star, National Post, Doctor’s Review, and The Rotarian.   World Wildlife Fund Canada, MSF/

Doctors without Borders, and M.E.D.I.C.O. have used her images for fundraising and public awareness.

Her volunteer work includes photographic documentation of medical missions (Kenya, Honduras) classroom teaching (Guatemala, Kenya) and being a companion to seniors (Guatemala).   She is a Rotarian.
