Paul Verrall

My introduction to sculpting was at Dr. Arthur Lismer’s art school at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Since then I’ve enjoyed a long career in graphic design but about 10 years ago I rediscovered my love of sculpting. I carve soapstone, serpentine, alabaster, cola and African wonderstone. My subjects are mainly Canadian wildlife, reflecting my love of nature. I agree with Inuit carvers who believe the finished piece is in the stone, waiting to be revealed.

I recently moved to Picton from Montreal and I’m thrilled to now be part of the PEC art community. I carve and exhibit my work at my home in Picton.
