Prince Edward County Music Festival

Under the artistic direction of celebrated Canadian pianist, Stéphane Lemelin, the Prince Edward County Music Festival offers audiences a unique opportunity to experience chamber music in Picton’s acoustically outstanding Church of St Mary Magdalene, as well as in other beautiful venues around the County. Central to each year’s festival is the presence of a Canadian composer whose works are introduced and performed, along with those of composers from the traditional classical music repertoire. From the convivial opening event, where audiences are given a taste of Festival treats, through afternoon and evening concerts that integrate the ‘old and the new’, the Festival’s musicians welcome listeners to their passionate artistic world.

In any community, the arts need strong representation in order to remind decision makers of the varied and far-reaching economic impacts of a vibrant arts scene in our society. PECAC serves an essential and invaluable advocacy role for the arts in Prince Edward County.
