The Written Word
The Written Word Committee oversees PECAC’s literary activities: The County Reads; A Book in Every Child’s Hand; Prescription to Read; and the Children’s Book Bank.
The Written Word Committee was incorporated in May 2009 as part of the Prince Edward County Arts Council. During our incubation period PECAC provided expertise, advice, financial and administrative support. This critical support enabled us to plan and implement two major initiatives; The County Reads and County Kids Read- a Book in Every Child’s Hand. The support of PECAC continues to insure that these initiatives are sustained and that the written a word is an essential element in the life and fabric of the County.
