Veronica is a multi media artist who enjoys exploring many different techniques. Primarily self taught, in the early 1980's she became interested in folk art particularly Norwegian Rosemaling, Bauermalerai and the canal boat art of England. On completion of many classes and workshops, Veronica taught in the Toronto area and at conventions across Canada. During this period she was a member and president of the Canadian Guild of Folk Painters, a chapter of the American Society of Decorative Painters, and was a founding member and president of the Canadian Decorative Artists Network.
Drawing and painting has always been a part of her life and a source of great pleasure. Since retiring to Prince Edward County Veronica has returned to her first love of painting the world around her especially scenes she has captured on camera during her travels. The beauty of Prince Edward County provides the perfect setting to create works of art for the pure pleasure it brings. Buildings particularly draw her attention and she enjoys painting them in a naïve style. The shorelines and quaint sea- side buildings of the Maritime Provinces are also an inspiration for Veronica.
Veronica is a member of the pARTnership, a group of artists from Prince Edward County who meet once a week to paint and exchange ideas in an informal and supportive environment.
